BIO

KELSIE STEIL is a New England-based 
Choreographer and Dancer. In May 2018, Kelsie graduated from Plymouth State University with a Bachelors Degree in Adventure Education and a Minor in Dance. There she received the 2018 Contemporary Dance Ensemble award for her achievements in Choreography. One of her ongoing works is IMMORTAL!, a contemporary duet. IMMORTAL! has been performed at three venues, most recently in December 2023 at Ballet Bloom Project's Monologue/Dialogue Concert. Kelsie regularly sets work on youth dance companies; in November 2019 she presented her piece Cast in Maine Moves IV which featured dancers from Portland Youth Dance. Kelsie has had the joy of living, dancing, and teaching locally and internationally. One of her major projects was a three-part film made in Lithuania, which can be viewed on her website. Currently, Kelsie dances for Ballet Bloom Project, a project-based contemporary ballet company in Portland, ME, directed by Rose Hutchins. Kelsie values collaboration in her projects. Her current collaborations include co-choreographing Rummage Lane, a full 
-length dance theater piece with choreographer Hannah Haines, as well as developing stage work/dance film CRAVING THE MYSTIC with Jen Hoffer as the Director of Photography. Kelsie works regularly with filmmaker/ photographer Max Auger, their latest creation being MR. MIND, a year in the making dance film featuring Maine dance artists.
